1. Introduction

TonysTopRevs (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates an online marketplace connecting buyers with approved UK car dealers. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

2. Information we collect

Enquiries. When you enquire about a vehicle, we collect the name, email address, phone number, and message you provide, so the dealer can respond to you.

Dealer accounts. Approved dealers who use our dealer portal provide a business email address and account credentials, along with business details such as dealership name, address, and contact information shown on their public profile.

Technical data. We process your IP address and browser information to keep the platform secure, for example to limit repeated form submissions and sign-in attempts. This data is kept only briefly.

Usage data.We record anonymous, aggregate statistics such as how many times a listing is viewed, a dealer’s phone number is revealed, or a dealer’s website link is clicked, and which marketing campaign a visit came from. These counters do not identify you.

Search queries.If you use our smart search, the text you type is processed by Google’s Gemini AI service to interpret your search. Please avoid entering personal information into the search box.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to keep dealers signed in to the dealer portal. These are required for the service to work.

We use two analytics services to understand how the site is used: Vercel Analytics, which is cookie-free and collects only anonymised, aggregated data; and Google Analytics, which sets cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors and measure how people find and use the site. Google Analytics only runs if you accept it via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to connect you with dealers and pass on your enquiries (performance of a contract), to secure and improve the platform and measure marketing (our legitimate interests), and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Sharing with dealers

When you submit an enquiry, the relevant approved dealer receives the details you provide so they can respond. Each dealer is an independent business and is responsible for their own use of your information once it is shared with them.

6. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run the service: Supabase (database hosting in Ireland, EU), Vercel (website hosting and analytics), and Google (analytics and AI search processing). These providers process data on our behalf under their own data protection commitments. Some processing by Vercel and Google may involve transfers outside the UK, protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions.

7. How long we keep your information

Enquiry details are kept for as long as needed to manage the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Security data such as IP-based rate limiting records is deleted automatically within minutes. Anonymous usage statistics are kept indefinitely as they do not identify anyone. You can ask us to delete your enquiry data at any time.

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
